At Tignes for the Musicalp Festival. It’s currently 4°C and pretty chilly out there for a summer in the mountains. Yet we are very thrilled to start these ten days of teaching and playing with wonderful musicians from all around the globe.
R. KREUTZER & N-C. BOCHSA: 6 Nocturnes for Harp and Violin
Preview of the new CD to be released in August 2016
– Excerpt of the Nocturne No. 1 in B flat Major
Kyunghee Kim-Sutre, Harp – Guillaume Sutre, Violin
Recorded at UCLA Ostin Music Center Recording Studio, March 2016
We just finished recording the Kreutzer-Bochsa 6 Nocturnes Concertants for Violin and Harp, in the amazing new Ostin recording studio at UCLA. So nice to enjoy this beautiful weather after so many hours inside the studio!
We had a real pleasure recording these beautiful nocturnes, full of charm and surprise! They are originally written for Violin and Harp, around 1816 by the 2 virtuoso, violinist Rodolphe Kreutzer and harpist Nicolas Charles Bochsa, a rare example of collaborated compositions!
The CD will be released this summer, we’ll keep you updated!
Top 10 for the CD Woelfl on Radio Klara (Belgium) this week!
Klara’s verdict
The salon music of Joseph Woelfl from the early years of the 19th century deserves your full attention. It is literally situated between the late Mozart and the early Beethoven. The much too soon died Woelfl – he was just under 40.
… The three sonatas on this album saw the light in Paris. They sound endearing as salon music should be, but you still are having more backbone, content and playful expressiveness than the average chamber music from that era. It is a pleasure to play this unpretentious harp-violin-piano music in foreground or background in the living room to hear whirling. Thanks to three experienced musicians: the Belgian pianist Steven Vanhauwaert, Korean harpist Kyunghee Kim Sutre and French violinist Guillaume Sutre.
