New Violin class at the Université de Montréal in 2021
We are pleased to announce that violinist Guillaume Sutre, founder of the renowned Trio Wanderer and member of the Ysaÿe Quartet for 20 years, will join the faculty of the Faculty of Music of the Université de Montréal as a visiting professor.
A renowned performer and educator, he has taught at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris, the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music in Los Angeles, and the Tianjin Juilliard School in China, in addition to having given master classes around the world.
“I am very happy and proud to join the prestigious teaching team of the Faculty of Music. I fell in love with this welcoming and culturally rich city during a concert tour in Quebec at the age of 16. Returning there now is a dream come true and I look forward to sharing with my future students the experience I have gained during my concert career, which included residencies in France, the United States and China. Living and working in Montreal will be a daily source of inspiration for me, and a happiness I wish everyone could experience.”
